Graduate Studies
Pursuing your dream career starts with the next phase of your education. When you enroll in graduate school at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, you’re beginning more than advanced training in your field; you’re accelerating your professional journey.
The student health center is staffed with medical and mental health professionals who can provide Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà students clinical services at no additional cost during the academic school year. We work in a partnership with Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ’s Medical Director, and on-site ProMedica Physician Dr. Aron Gornowicz. We are happy to introduce to you, our Student Health Center staff:
Holly Nichelson, NP- Director of Student Health Center
Kellie Berger, Director of Counseling Services
Rebecca Parker, Administrative Assistant
A wide range of services are available, including the following: COVID-19 testing, medical exams, common laboratory services, short-term prescriptions, influenza vaccinations, and wellness education. The health center sees students for many illnesses such as cold & cough, acute injuries, allergies, vomiting, diarrhea, and general health concerns. In addition to physical illness, the health center can also assist in referrals to counseling services on-campus, as well as off-campus.
The Health Center is also here “just to talk” to students about any issue having an impact on their health and/or wellbeing. We are able to assist students with timely referrals to other campus or community medical and/or mental health programs or services.
All health service records are confidential. Safeguarding students’ medical information is not only a legal requirement, but also an important ethical obligation. No one will have access to health records without the written consent of the student, including their parents/guardians, if the student is of legal age (18 years or older). Information from a student’s health record will not be disclosed except in cases of extreme urgency where there is an obvious “need to know”, such as in cases of injury to themselves or others or as required by law. Students have the right to access their personally identifiable medical files and have the right to correct or remove any inaccurate, irrelevant or out-of-date information.
